It may sound hard to believe, but Republican John Boehner enjoys playing slot machines at Indian casinos in his free time. These casinos have played an important role in an unsolved scandal regarding Jack Abramoff.
But in Boehner’s case, Indian casinos have brought him good luck. The House Majority Leader won $2,700 dollars. This amount was included in his personal financial report, stating that the representative had won it at Kewadin Casino, Manistique.
Boehner was driving from a campaign fund-raiser to another and had to make a stop at a casino for one of his aides to use the bathroom. Meanwhile, the Republican played at a slot machine and won the $2,700 dollars.
He is not the only lucky politician at casino games. Last year, Rep. Paul Kanjorski won $19,500 dollars playing blackjack at an Indian casino, Sen. Judd Gregg won $850,000 dollars with a Powerball ticket and Rep. Bob Ney won $34,000 dollars on a game of chance at a casino in London.
